While Prinze Jr. and Cook aren’t starring in a new rom-com together, they’re both working on Netflix films in the same genre, which is why Cook was on hand to support her former co-star. Next up for Cook is the film A Tourist’s Guide to Love. According to Variety, the movie is based on Cook’s original idea and written by Eirene Donohue. The story follows a travel executive, played by Cook, who goes to Vietnam after a bad breakup to learn about the tourist industry there. As the official synopsis reads, “Along the way she finds adventure and romance with her Vietnamese expat tour guide when they decide to hijack the tour bus in order to explore life and love off the beaten path.” There is no official release date yet for A Tourist’s Guide to Love, but it’s currently in post-production, according to IMDb. Prinze Jr. and Cook starred in She’s All That, a story about a artsy, loner high school student named Laney (Cook), who unexpectedly starts getting attention from one of the most popular guys in school, Zack (Prinze Jr.). The two slowly fall in love, but unbeknownst to Laney, Zack’s only started spending time with her as part of a horrible bet. Cook even appeared in Netflix’s gender-swapped reboot, He’s All That, which premiered in August 2021. Over the years, the film has remained a classic, but it’s also gotten some criticism for its perspective on women. Cook revealed that she recently rewatched her film, and she told Us Weekly, “some of the language that they use to talk about women…it is really pretty disparaging and disrespectful. Like, there’s body-shaming and other things.” But she went on to say, “I’m not embarrassed to be associated with the movie. And it was another time. But it’s not great at points. There’s stuff in there that’s like, it’s a little tough to defend in today’s day.” Luckily, one of the best impacts of She’s All That is the friendship between Cook and Prinze Jr., and clearly, it’s still going strong today.
