On the March 9 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore began their sitdown by bringing up his Sassenach spirits brand before mentioning hisMen in Kilts travelogue show that he co-hosts with his former Outlander co-star, Graham McTavish. “You are everywhere with your best friend and in kilts and I hear you love a kilt,” Barrymore said before suggestively asking Heughan, “Do you wear it traditionally?” Heughan coyly played dumb by replying, “What do you mean by that?"—at which point, Barrymore said, “You know!” while gesturing like, um, a certain something blowing in the breeze. “I heard that’s the traditional way to wear a kilt,” Barrymore went on to explain—al fresco!” Heughan admitted that wearing a kilt in such a way is “liberating” before confessing, “And we may do [wear them traditionally],” which literally made Barrymore scream! Believe it or not, things got even bawdier when Barrymore started musing about what it would be like to go sans undies under a skirt; she then asked Heughan, “What happens if you fall?” Heughan replied with a bit of history trivia: “Well actually, the Scots, they used to go into battle and they would take their kilts off and sometimes run into battle just in their shirts! Just to scare the opposition, or to thrill the opposition, I don’t know… I haven’t tried that one, but I might in the future.” Barrymore clearly knew just how lucky she was to have the chance to chat with the man who makes Outlander fans swoon: She began their sitdown by telling the audience (which, as she noted, was filled with “Heughligans”) that she felt “like I am the envy of the room.” She then literally proceeded to drool a little bit—but Heughan, ever the gentleman, helped her saved face by telling her, “It’s all right, I’m drooling as well.” (She later joked that if Droughtlander were “Droolander,” she’d be all about it.) Other tidbits that came out (no pun intended!) during Heughan’s Q&A? He told Barrymore that he “recently moved house in Scotland [into] this old tavern that has been done up and I love it.” We’re guessing he’s referring to the remodeled Cawdermill House he reportedly purchased in late 2021; at the time of the sale, the property was described as “originally used as an inn with stables.” But wait, there’s more! Barrymore also treated Heughan to a bagel buffet in order to help him suss out the best bagel in NYC (where her show tapes) and that segment likewise turned into a flirt-fest between the two. (Seriously, should we start ‘shipping Team “Drewghan”?) Next, Sam Heughan Was Batman?! See the Outlander Star in the Caped Crusader’s Cowl!
